Terms of use
Draft of 21 October 2026. Cut Buddy is run by company name to come ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Cut Buddy app, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
The short version
- You must be 13 or older. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must approve before you join a team.
- Cut Buddy gives nutrition information, not medical advice.
- Buddy uses AI, and AI can be wrong. Check anything important, especially allergens.
- You own what you put in. We never sell it or use it for advertising, and you can export it or delete your account at any time.
Who can use Cut Buddy
- You must be at least 13 years old. The app won't let anyone younger sign up.
- If you're 13 to 17, a parent or guardian must approve before you join a team or share anything with a coach. We send that request to them directly.
- Give accurate information about yourself, especially your age and the health questions. The app uses them to keep its advice safe for you.
Not medical advice
Cut Buddy gives general nutrition information and planning tools. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it isn't a substitute for a doctor, athletic trainer or registered dietitian. Talk to one before changing how you eat if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, take medication or have a history of an eating disorder. Some features change or switch off for you in those situations, on purpose.
In an emergency, call 911. For crisis support, call or text 988. More help is listed on our support page.
AI answers can be wrong
Buddy uses AI to understand what you type or say and to write its replies. Your targets come from our nutrition calculations, not the AI, but any part of the app can make mistakes: a food entry can be wrong, a meal can be logged incorrectly, or a reply can misunderstand you. Use your judgment, and always check food labels for allergens yourself.
Subscriptions and cancellation
Prices, any free trial and what's included to come before launch.
Subscriptions bought in the iPhone app are sold and billed by Apple under Apple's terms. You can cancel at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple Account's subscriptions. Deleting the app or your Cut Buddy account doesn't cancel an Apple subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple.
Teams
- If you join a team, your coach sees only what you choose to share, and you can change it or leave at any time.
- Coaches are responsible for how they use what athletes share with them. Cut Buddy doesn't make coaching, selection or eligibility decisions.
Acceptable use
Don't:
- use someone else's account, or let someone use yours;
- try to get around the app's safety limits, or use it to pressure anyone into unsafe eating or weight loss;
- harass anyone, including in team notes;
- copy, resell, scrape or reverse-engineer the app, or interfere with how it runs;
- use it for anything illegal.
Your information
You own what you put into Cut Buddy. You let us use it to run and improve the app as our privacy policy describes. We never sell it or use it for advertising. You can export it or delete it from Settings at any time.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Privacy and data → Delete my account and data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts someone at risk, and we'll tell you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it.
Disclaimers and limits on liability
To be written by counsel.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
Governing law
State to come.
