Consumer health data policy
Last updated 18 October 2026. Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar state laws ask for this as its own policy. It covers consumer health data as those laws define it.
Consumer health data we collect
Your yes/no health answers; your weight, body measurements and goals; what you eat and drink; your training; conversations with Buddy and Buddy's notes about you; and information from which health could be inferred, such as a diet you follow because of a condition.
Where it comes from
From you, through the app, and from your coach if they write notes about you.
Why we collect and use it
To provide the app's nutrition planning, tracking and coaching, and to keep its advice safe for you. We ask for your consent before collecting it, and the app can't be used without the health questions, because they are how it avoids advice that could hurt you.
Who we share it with
Our service providers (Supabase for hosting, Anthropic for the AI behind Buddy), who may use it only to provide services to us; and your coach, only with your separate consent and, if you are under 18, a parent's or guardian's approval.
Your rights
You can confirm whether we hold your consumer health data, see it and a list of everyone we have shared it with, withdraw consent, and have it deleted, including from our service providers. Use the app's Settings, or write to privacy email to come. We respond within 45 days, and may extend once by 45 days when reasonably necessary. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.
Selling and geofencing
We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not use geofencing around any health care facility.
